The 5 Coolest Movie Motorcycles
Tough guys abound in motorcycle movies, making us yearn for the freedom to rev our engines and speed away. Most of us will never be able to try most of the tricks that these characters do with ease—and if you do, make sure your bike is covered, by insuring it through a website like MotorcycleInsurance.com! Unless you have your own personal prop department on standby, that is.
1. TT Special 650 Triumph, ridden by Steve McQueen in “The Great Escape”

McQueen was the epitome of cool, and this movie solidified that reputation by showcasing his motorcycle skills. He performed almost all of his own stunts in the movie, and they were actually added at his suggestion. Let’s all agree that the movie is that much better for it. Could you imagine watching it without seeing McQueen jump the fence?
2. Harley Davidson Fat Boy, ridden by Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”
He said he’d be back, but who knew he’d look this tough when he arrived? Arnie rode onto this scene on this bad boy, securing his status as one of the top action heroes of all-time.
3. Kawasaki GPz900R, ridden by Tom Cruise in “Top Gun”
Who could forget Tom racing down the road trying to keep up with a jet, or speeding away from Kelly McGillis after she called him out on his grandstanding? No matter what you may think of Tom Cruise now, you know you were a little bit envious of his cocky persona and fast machine.
4. Harley Davidson Hydra-Glide, ridden by Peter Fonda in “Easy Rider”
One of the most iconic movies ever, watching Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper can still make us long for a time when we could hit the open road with our bikes and experience life with an amazing soundtrack guiding us along. Sure, we could try to now, but would it really be the same as it was during the 1960′s?
5. Triumph Thunderbird, ridden by Marlon Brando in “The Wild One”
Brando was the ultimate tough guy, and his attitude oozed throughout the whole movie as he led his biker gang on a crime spree throughout the entire town. Hey, if you’re going to scare the locals, why not do it in style, right?
