Up

Pixar returns to the CGI fray after the triumph of WALL.E with this story of seventy-something hero Carl Fredricksen (voiced by Edward Asner) who has dreamed of travelling the globe. He gets his chance when he hooks up with a clueless eight-year-old…and they both set off into the great unknown.
Wall E
Throughout the 21st century, Earth was governed by the Buy n Large megacorporation (BnL), causing mass consumerism and covering the planet in trash by 2105. In an attempt to resolve the situation, Earth’s population was evacuated on fully automated luxury BnL starliners for five years while an army of trash compactor robots called WALL-E’s were left behind to clean up the planet. The plan largely failed, however, forcing humanity to remain in space indefinitely. Seven hundred years later, in 2805, only one WALL-E unit functions, having survived by salvaging parts for himself from other defunct WALL-E units. This unit has developed sentience and a sense of emotion, particularly curiosity, as shown by his quirky habits of collecting knickknacks from the mountains of trash.

A tiebreaker race is scheduled for one week later at the Los Angeles International Speedway. Lightning is desperate to win the race, as it would allow him to leave the sponsorship of Rust-Eze, a rust treatment for old cars, and allow him to become the sponsored car of the lucrative Dinoco team in The King’s place. Eager to start practice in California as soon as possible, Lightning pushes his big rig, Mack, to travel all night long.

On the first day of school, the other kids tease Nemo about his overprotective widower father. Flik is admonished by the colony’s royal council.
