Movie posters have been used to advertise films in Cinema’s all over the world for years, they are designed to be eye catching and intriguing, to tempt you in to see the film.They originally would have been illustrations of the Film or sometimes the characters accompanied by a few words, but have since progressed to photographs of either the setting or the characters from it, with some really catchy slogan.Most modern Movie posters are generated using computer graphics, the same as the big Movies really, they are designed to be eye catching and draw you into the local Cinema.Some Movie posters are even done slightly differently for different Continents, to appeal to different markets, so a lot of research and thought goes into making these posters, trying to attract our attention to the latest release or Movie showing. If they don’t get it right, it could make the difference between a massive Box Office hit or a total flop. A huge amount rides on the success of these posters.The new big thing in the Film or Cinema world is Motion Posters, basically the poster is animated and brings the poster and movie to life..Here are some of our Top 10 Movie Posters.


This is a character poster of Bumblebee from Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen designed by BLT and Associates for the release of the 2009 Movie. They also did loads of alternative versions for this movie, to appeal to anyone and everyone. BLT are based in Hollywood and specialise in Movie posters, they have been around since the 1990’s and have designed hundreds of really famous Film posters.


This is the brilliant poster designed by Crew Creative Advertising, of the late, Heath Ledger as the Joker for the Batman film, The Dark Knight. This is just such a stunning shot of Heath as the Joker, just beautifully done…Crew Creative Advertising are a Design Agency based in Los Angeles that specialise in print, online and audio visual, mainly for Entertainment Clientele


This is the visually stunning poster for the Season of the Witch, starring Nicholas Cage and Ron Pearlman. A very short and catchy slogan combined with awesome graphics and brilliant photography by the designers The Cimarron Group. They design movie posters worldwide and have Agencies in a few countries.


Clash of the Titans starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. The movie poster was designed by Art Machine, a Trailer Park Company. They are based in Hollywood and design movie posters and make trailers for the Entertainment Business, they also specialise in TV campaigns and interactive advertising.


Underworld released in 2003 starring Kate Bekinsale and Michael Sheen.This movie poster was produced by BLT and associates again…This wouldn’t look the same in full colour and I doubt anyone but Kate could pull this off aesthetically, she has an awesome body and poses beautifully for this photo.


Labyrinth was released in 1986 starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. This movie poster was designed by Artist and Illustrator Steven Corney, who is based in the UK and covers everything art wise from Fine art, Book illustration, Games, Movies, TV and Advertising.


A documentary, which follows a group of Artists and Designers, who inadvertly affected the Art world. This poster was designed by Keith Scharwath, who is a Designer, Illustrator and specialises in Art Direction.This is a very colourful and striking design and I really like it…

Attack of the 50ft Woman was realeased in 1958 and the poster was designed by Reynold Brown, a popular Movie Poster Illustrator in the 50’s and 60’s. He did famous Movie posters like Ben Hur and The Creature from the Black Lagoon and many others..


The Land that Time Forgot was released in 1975 and was illustrated by George Akimoto, who died in may last year. He spent most of his life as an Artist and Illustrator, but also produced a few stunning Movie posters in the 70’s.
